From estate to public Park Vreugd en Rust

The former estate Vreugd en Rust in Voorburg is now a public park with great amenities. The Central Park Voorburg hotel-restaurant is housed in the national monument of Vreugd en Rust estate. Here you can go for long walks and enjoy the peace and quiet among all the greenery!

This entire estate was the former home of Guillaume Groen van Prinsterer. Guillaume Groen van Prinsterer was an important 19th century politician. He formed the base of ‘an anti-revolutionary approach to politics and history’. The landscape garden of Vreugd en Rust extends from the Vliet to Parkweg. The park has various amenities, like The Voorburg Music Club, which is located next to Central Park Voorburg hotel, and further on there’s a petting zoo.
