Corbulo is the founder of Forum Hadriani, the current Voorburg. For over fifty years, his equestrian statue has watched over the surroundings! In 1964, Voorburg-based artist Albert Termote was commissioned to immortalise the general, and Termote clearly based his sculpture on Roman equestrian statues from the first century AD.
The statue makes for a a nice stop during a walk around town and is a lovely, artistic reflection of a unique piece of history. You can find more information about Forum Hadriani and the Roman period of the region in Museum Swaensteyn!
