Be amazed at the Tropische Vlindertuin
Vlinders aan de Vliet is a small tropical zoo in Leidschendam, near The Hague with hundreds of colourful butterflies, birds, fish, turtles, reptiles and some unusual insects. From spring to autumn, you can learn all about butterflies and the secrets of the jungle. A visit to this indoor ‘rainforest’ is especially great on cold or rainy days because Vlinders aan de Vliet makes you feel as though you’re in the tropics!
Originally, Vlinders aan de Vliet is a hobby that got out of hand, which eventually resulted in an old greenhouse in Leidschendam being converted into a small zoo. Besides the gorgeous butterflies, there are also lots of birds, fish, turtles, reptiles and insects. Because it’s too cold in winter to let the butterflies fly, Vlinders aan de Vliet is open from February to November.
